Imran directs registering cases against PM, security czar over Islamabad tragedy, says Aleema Khan

Imran Khan, the incarcerated founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is reportedly holding back a “trump card” that he intends to use strategically, according to his sister Aleema Khan. The revelation comes amidst political and legal challenges following the PTI’s “final call” protest.

Imran Khan’s “Trump Card” Revelation

After meeting Imran Khan at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan revealed to reporters that the former prime minister is devising a plan but has chosen not to disclose it yet. “He told me that he would not reveal his trump card right now,” she said, adding that her brother is confident about the future.

No Access to News in Jail

Aleema highlighted the restrictive conditions Imran Khan faces in prison, where he has no access to newspapers or television. “He relies on updates from his lawyers,” she said. She dismissed rumors about his declining health, emphasizing that he is “totally fine” despite the challenges.

Violence and Casualties During PTI’s Protest

The “final call” protest, launched on November 24, resulted in tragic violence. At least four law enforcers, including three Rangers and one police officer, were killed during the unrest, while PTI claims at least 12 of its workers and supporters also lost their lives.

Imran Orders Legal Action Against PM and Interior Minister

Reacting to the tragic events in Islamabad, Imran Khan instructed his legal team to file a first information report (FIR) against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Aleema stated, “He believes the incident will intensify public outrage and has asked us to escalate the issue at both national and international forums.”

Criticism of PTI Leadership

Aleema expressed disappointment with the absence of PTI’s senior leadership during the protest. “They should have been there on the container alongside the protesters when Bushra Bibi was leading them,” she remarked, signaling internal discontent within the party.

Abrupt End to the “Final Call” Protest

The protest, which was aimed at securing Imran Khan’s release, ended unexpectedly in the early hours of November 27 following a crackdown by Islamabad police. Hundreds of PTI workers and supporters were arrested, and the party’s momentum appeared to falter.

Fresh Cases Filed Against Imran Khan

Adding to his legal troubles, Imran Khan now faces seven new cases related to the violent clashes during the protest. Despite these setbacks, his sister maintains that he remains steadfast and determined to guide the party through this turbulent period.

PTI’s Future Strategy

The PTI, once Pakistan’s ruling party, is now grappling with internal and external challenges. Aleema Khan hinted that Imran Khan is planning his next move and that the party’s supporters should remain hopeful. “He is waiting for the right time to play his trump card,” she said.
